I have been the headteacher at Tewin Cowper for just over 11 years, having taught previously for 11 years in various settings. My teaching career was inspired through my involvement with my own children’s journeys through school; I believe every child should be nurtured to achieve the best they can though fostering independence, confidence and creativity. Since I have been here, the governors have provided invaluable support and challenge to both myself and the staff team, to ensure that we are always exploring ways of making our provision the best we can and inspiring and motivating children to develop a love of learning and achieve their best in every dimension of their lives. My Christian faith underpins my commitment to leading a church school where I feel strongly that we must equip each child to be a valued member of the world through drawing on our Christian values
As the lead learner at the school, I relish personal challenges too and during the past few years I have had some amazing experiences: the Three Peaks Challenge, running 10k races, abseiling Table Mountain. These things have taught me to embrace challenges rather than see things as barriers.
