I hope you all had a wonderful, restful and fun half term and have some renewed energy ready for the half term ahead, whatever that looks like! I was so impressed by all the work the children managed to produce last half term and how well they have coped with everything. Hopefully it won't be too long now before they are back with their friends and some kind of normality can return.
For English this week we are looking at poetry. For maths we are continuing with subtraction and then starting on numbers to 50 on Friday. For phonics I am planning to keep re-capping phase 5 phonemes and learning tricky words so this week there are just activities to consolidate the sounds they have learnt but you can access the videos from week 1' s home learning to re-visit the sound. I have also uploaded links for websites for phonics practice. We are starting a new topic this half term called childhood which I will stick to for at least the next 2 weeks so that if we are back to school after the 8th March, we can seamlessly continue on with it back in class.
Story time zoom has not been popular the last couple of weeks so I have decided not to continue with it. I'll just be doing the normal check-in zooms in the mornings (see the zoom activities section below for more details). Miss Williams will be doing Friday's now as we are back to our normal staffing routine of having Miss Williams on a Friday morning and Mrs Carnegie just on a Friday afternoon.
If your child would like a phone call at any point, please e-mail me and I will arrange a time to call. Please also remember to email when you are unable to attend the morning check-in and please ensure you send me a piece of your child's work each week.
Take care and have a good week.
