What's New

It’s the end of another wonderful term; much to celebrate, achievements to be proud of and time to look ahead to the events of the Summer term; althought we still have our special Easter Service at St Peter’s Church when we return.

We have been hearing lots of exciting news this morning of things the children are doing over the break; we hope that whatever plans you have, it will be a wonderful time of doing things together as families. There is a saying that, to a child, love is spelt ‘t-i-m-e’ because it is the quality time they have with the people in their lives that makes their world a happy, exciting, safe place where they feel loved and special as they develop and learn. The space we make away from the busyness of life, ignoring the mobile phone for a while, listening, chatting and just being together are the best things we can do for our children.
No doubt there will be lots of chocolate in your homes; we hope you will also have some Spring sunshine to enjoy and most of all know God’s blessing on your families.
Happy Easter everyone

We are delighted to share a letter with you that was sent on 7th February by Rt Hon Nick Gibb MP, who is the Minister of State for School Standards. The letter congratulates the staff and pupils for ‘the very high standard that pupils achieved in mathematics in the 2016 key stage 2 assessments.... the results, as published in December 2016, show that 100 per cent reached or exceeded the expected standard in mathematics at the end of key stage 2...meaning that we are in the top 2% of primary schools in England for attainment in mathematics’.

Wow... it is wonderful to have our achievements acknowledged in this way!

Whilst we have been praised for our hard work and professionalism in producing such high standards, we would like to thank you all for your support as we work in partnership to enable your children to make the best progress they can. We are so proud of our small school and the way that our ‘big dreams’ become our achievements.

"This is a GOOD School" OFSTED 2016

We would like to raise your awareness of a new Government website for comparing school performance. The website address is www.compare-school-performance.service.gov.uk

Select ‘Tewin Cowper CE School’; If you select the option for comparing the results to other schools, you will see that Tewin Cowper is ranked an impressive 11th out of 125 similar schools across the UK. Our maths results were particularly outstanding as they were well above the national average. It has also been noted at the end of the table that there was no better performing school in the group, within a 75 mile radius.

Welcome

Please see uor class page under curriculum - scroll down for lots of information and resources. I will be adding the SATs timetable over Easter.  All year 6s have brought home a 10 day revision booklet which is Easter themed and fun!! They MUST do this as it is essential they do not forget what they've learned or all their hard work will be for nothing. I want them to be able to come back after Easter and carry on making progress rather than...

Well what an amazing day it has been! Right from the start, in our special World Book Day Assembly, the excitement began to bubble as we found out a bit about Dr Seuss. This wonderful enthusiasm carried us through our Paired Reading this morning. Our partner classes were: Willow and Rowan, Birch and Chestnut, and Cherry and Oak. It was an absolute pleasure to see you all thoroughly enjoying reading with your partner and really helping each other ...
