         “small school BIG dreams”

…….that wonderful time of preparation and reflection. Our displays look beautiful with Christmas scenes that include our Advent Calendar: a special Tewin tradition. Every day a box is taken from the display to reveal a child’s artwork underneath.

A massive ‘thankyou’ to the Wright family: Katie, Jack, Phoebe, Jude, Barry and Deirdre for the donation of the most amazing Christmas Tree. We would like every child to bring a small decoration to add to the tree on Monday (5th December) – for example a bauble or something they have made that could hang from a branch.

We hope you will join us for our Christmas performances and our Mulled wine and Mince Pie evening. The theme of our artwork this year is ‘Stars’ and promises to be very special.

WE ARE DELIGHTED WITH OUR EXCELLENT KEY STAGE 2 SATS RESULTS JULY 2016. Once again, our school is above the National Average for all subjects.

Have a look at our SATS results in the Information section of our website.

See you there – too special to miss!

Just a flavour of the evening on 14th December 6.00-7.30pm. We love this time of year and it is our time to say ‘thank you’ to our parents, carers and friends of the school. Every class will have their Christmas art on display, there will be songs and music from our choir and musicians, mulled wine and mince pies. It is a lovely evening but we do ask that you do not bring children (choir and musicians excepted – they will have a separate letter home).

Thought for the Month: ‘Life is God’s gift to you. The way you live your life is your gift to God. Make it a fantastic one!’

Hello everyone, What a busy time we are having!  After our fantastic science week, we are now firmly into our new topic ‘Journeys’ and the run up to Christmas. Last week we went on a Bear Hunt, learning lots of different positional language as we hunted over, under and all around for bears and identified the ones we found using non-fiction reference books. This week the children chose to travel to Australia.  We are using the book ‘Womb...

Chestnut Chat – Year 4 and 5 Class – Autumn 2 20th November I apologise for the blogs being a bit sparse over the past few weeks. I have quite a hectic home life at the moment, trying to entertain and look after our 9 Great Dane puppies, in between school work and paying some attention to my own children. However, I am so pleased with the progress that is being made in our class. The children are settling into the pace of a Year 4/5 class...

Rowan's had such a jam packed Science Week and they were all so enthusiastic and engaged. It was lovely to see them all loving different parts of their science learning. I must say that I also learned a lot from Science Week, especially from all the children's speeches on Monday. They were so confident and knowledgable. It was wonderful. There are some photographs in the gallery, in Rowan class' album, that show some of the activities of our week...

Today we went in to the hall and a visiting scientist came in. He was really funny. He blew up balloons and made them stick to the wall, he controlled a dahlek which kicked the Earth off the table and told lots of funny stories about science! After that, we dissected a pig's heart and to start with, I wasn't keen about doing it, but I really learned a lot about the different organs in the body. We finished the day with an assembly, where the best...

Today in science week we took part in lots of activities. In the morning, a man came in to talk to us about alcohol and drugs awareness. It was really fun wearing the googles that made you feel like you were drunk. When we had them on, we had to walk along a straight line and pick up keys, drop them and catch the ball. We also learned how bad smoking is. After play, we gathered in the hall with Rowan class and Chestnut class. The animal man came ...
