Ofsted and Performance Data
Tewin Cowper Church of England Voluntary Aided Primary School was inspected by Ofsted in November 2024 under the previous inspection framework. Inspectors recognised that pupils are happy, feel safe and enjoy their learning. The report highlights pupils’ enthusiasm for their lessons, their thoughtful understanding of different cultures and religions, and the strong sense of respect and kindness within the school community.
Inspectors also noted the wide range of opportunities that enrich pupils’ experiences, including school trips, clubs and leadership roles. Pupils value these opportunities and speak confidently about their learning and the wider world. The report recognises the school’s positive focus on personal development and the supportive environment created for pupils.
The inspection took place shortly after significant staffing changes, with a new leadership team and many new staff joining the school in September 2024. Inspectors acknowledged that leaders have quickly prioritised safeguarding, attendance and personal development while putting clear plans in place to further strengthen teaching and learning across the school.
Since the inspection, the school has refreshed its vision, drawing inspiration from the parable of the mustard seed. This reflects our belief that even the smallest beginnings can grow into something strong and flourishing. Guided by this vision, we continue to nurture every child’s potential, ensuring that all pupils grow in confidence, knowledge and character within our caring Christian community.
