Art - Digital Photgraphy and Filters

In Art, Oak Class explored the famous painting The Scream by Edvard Munch. We studied how Munch used bold colours, swirling lines and exaggerated facial expressions to communicate powerful emotions. Inspired by his work, we recreated the painting using digital art techniques. First, we photographed ourselves posing with shocked and frightened expressions, carefully considering our facial expressions and hand positions. We then used Canva to apply filters, remove backgrounds and combine our photographs with Munch's original artwork using digital collage techniques. The result was a collection of imaginative and wonderfully dramatic interpretations of The Scream, demonstrating our creativity and growing confidence with digital art!

Science - Creative Critters

We explored the different features of invertebrates and how to use them to classify them. We created playdough models of different invertebrates, carefully including key features such as the number of legs, body sections, antennae and outer coverings. We then compared our models and discussed how these characteristics help scientists identify and classify different types of invertebrates
