SATs & Home Learning
As children prepare for their Key Stage 2 SATs, we support them through high-quality teaching, daily arithmetic and SPaG practice, and consistently high expectations across the curriculum. Alongside this work in school, we provide purposeful, high-quality home learning tasks to reinforce key knowledge and skills; these can be found on the main class page. Families who would like to provide additional practice at home may also find the following SATs preparation resources helpful:
TTRockstars is an online maths programme that helps children practise their times tables and improve their speed and accuracy. Strong times-table knowledge makes many SATs questions easier, especially those involving fractions, percentages and division. Regular practice at home can really help build confidence and fluency.
Hit the Button is a quick online maths game that helps children practise key number facts, including times tables, division, doubles and halves. It is useful for SATs preparation because it builds speed, accuracy and confidence with mental maths. Regular short practice sessions can make a real difference.
CGP SATs books provide clear explanations, practice questions and short activities covering the key areas of English and maths. They can be useful for extra practice at home, helping children revisit topics, become familiar with SATs-style questions and build confidence before the tests. Please note these are currently available directly from the school at a HEAVY discount for a limited time!
