Year 4

Welcome to Kingfisher Class - Year 4

A huge warm welcome to you all! In our class you will meet 26 children along with Miss Tebbutt, Mrs Barrie and Mrs. Deeble-Rogers. Our class is full of energy and excitement to learn, guided by our enthusiasm for new experiences. We aim to be ready, safe, respectful and honest with ourselves and others.

In year 4 we are so lucky to be able to look after our own allotment just a short walk from the school grounds. This was kindly donated to us in late Spring 2018 so it is still new to us. Keep up to date with what we are doing at the allotments by looking at the website and our noticeboard on our class room window.

We are sad to have left our "Revolting Romans" topic behind, but excited to move onto "River deep, Mountain high" where we will be focusing on rivers, mountains and coasts from around the world. Through our Creative Curriculum, we will be researching, observing and making recordings about a river in our local area, whilst also painting pictures and comparing the lives of people who live in different countries - what a mix!

This term we will be taking part in Deep Water Swimming lessons at Stevenage Swimming pool on a Thursday afternoon. We will be aiming to achieve our 25m Deep Water Award, and many will achieve more! We will begin to visit the allotment again on the week commencing 1st April, where we will begin to plant new flowers, vegetables and herbs to harvest in the Summer term!
