Welcome to Kingfisher Class - Year 4
A huge warm welcome to you all! In our class you will meet 26 children along with Miss Tebbutt, Mrs Barrie and Mrs. Deeble-Rogers. Our class is full of energy and excitement to learn, guided by our enthusiasm for new experiences. We aim to be ready, safe, respectful and honest with ourselves and others.
In year 4 we are so lucky to be able to look after our own allotment just a short walk from the school grounds. This was kindly donated to us in late Spring 2018 so it is still new to us. Keep up to date with what we are doing at the allotments by looking at the website and our noticeboard on our class room window.
We have just finished our "River deep, mountain high" topic and are so excited to move onto our Rainforest topic titled "I'M A PUPIL, GET ME OUT OF HERE!". In this topic we will be cooking using some rainforest ingredients, acting out weather forecasts from rainforest climates, researching and presenting about deforestation, making rainforest music and much much more!
We started revisiting the allotment as soon as we came back from the Easter Holidays. We have begun weeding and planting new bulbs - onions and potatoes!
This term the children will need their PE kits on a Monday with their full outdoor kit. We will be learning how to play Rounders and also taking part in "Outdoor Adventurous Activities" (OAA) whilst on our trip to Cuffley Camp! We are so excited to see how Cuffley Camp has changed as many of the children visited on a day trip in Year 2.
